- Exchange Semester at one of our numerous international partner universities
- Full-time Internship Abroad
- Academic Break
If you do not wish to do an exchange or an academic break for a full-time internship, your 3rd semester will be the Dissertation Semester.
Dissertation Project
The Master's dissertation is the culmination of your master's program. This is when you build on the knowledge and skills acquired during the program to develop an individual project on a topic that resonates with your career aspirations and helps you excel in an area you find professionally relevant. At CATÓLICA-LISBON there are two models for dissertation supervision – an Independent Process, or a project developed in the Dissertation Seminar.
Most of our students develop their industry or academic research in a dissertation seminar supervised by an expert in a specific area. Here is a selection of Dissertation Seminars offered in 2022/2023. This list is updated every year to reflect the topics of interest for our master students and its relevance for companies.

Knowledge Centers: the goal of the knowledge centers is to support your innovation drive, help you take your idea from course projects to a start-up, engage with partner companies to create innovation in retail space, and become the agent of positive change in consumer well-being and society.
Student Professional Clubs & Associations are a vital part of the Master experience in CATÓLICA-LISBON. Groups of students established clubs in their areas of interest. The goal of each club differs, but most aim to develop the professional skills of their student members and to promote connections of the students with business leaders and organizations around the world.
Each year the clubs develop various events and activities, such as seminars, and conferences with well-known speakers, and organize open days in companies. The clubs can also work on specific projects with other university departments and knowledge centers. The clubs are supported by the Careers & Talent Office.
