The Digital & Sustainable Innovation Lab (DSIL) is a multi-disciplinary research group at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics. DSIL’s mission is to empower businesses to create wellbeing in urban areas via digital technologies and to capitalize on business model innovation in the context of digital transformation, sustainability and internationalization.
The research group focuses on entrepreneurial strategy, digital innovation, and business model patterns integrating new methods such as machine learning and feeds into our research platform, Venturely.io. DSIL consults companies on strategic issues related to business modelling and digitization.
The research team published 7 papers in peer-reviewed academic journal papers and participated in three European research projects, funded by Horizon 2020, AAL and FP7 programs with leading universities around the world (e.g. MIT, St.Gallen, Manchester).
As its main outreach activities, DSIL organized three international meetings (2021 Virtual conference platform SCOOCS, 2020 GRONEN Conference and the 2018 Business Model Innovation Workshop with Grundfos), and launched the Business Modelling Platform Venturely.io in 2019. In addition, the lab collaborates with 50+ companies across Europe.
DSIL was founded by René Bohnsack, PhD, Professor for Strategy and Innovation at CATÓLICA LISBON.
