The Refinitiv-Eikon Financial Laboratory is a room fully equipped with the latest version of Refinitiv-Eikon, the laboratory is your perfect place for a deep dive into the financial and economic world.

You can use the workstation to research ideas, check market data and share your content with your peers using the well- known instant messaging platform "Refinitiv Messenger", included into the product.

At room 502 (Ground floor, Building 5).

Attention: You may have some difficulties in executing the following steps with the latest versions of some browsers. You will get an error such as "SSL server probably obsolete" or "Secure Connection Failed". For further information please check: 

Note: Refinitiv-Eikon cannot be installed in an Apple computer. But even in this case, you can access Refinitiv-Eikon through its webpage.

 
keyboard_arrow_up E) Is there a web interface to Refinitiv-Eikon?

Yes. You can access Refinitiv-Eikon Web Access in https://customers.refinitiv.com/eikon/ and then click on "Sign in" button on the right of the label "Thomson Reuters Eikon - Web Access".

keyboard_arrow_up F) How do I login for the first time?

Go to https://customers.refinitiv.com/eikon/, click on the button "Sign in & download", type your university e-mail address in User ID field and click on "Forgotten your password?".

You will then receive an e-mail in your university account with instructions to set your password.

You can also login using the Web Access. To do so please check the question E) "Is there a web interface to Refinitiv-Eikon?".

 
keyboard_arrow_up G) What is my user ID?

Your user ID is your university e-mail address. It is not your student number. All  the information necessary for you to access Refinitiv-Eikon will be send in a proper e-mail.

You will find useful resources about Refinitiv-Eikon, powerful guides and videos and many tips to improve your Eikon experience!  Training is also available in the product by typing “Training” into search or pressing F1 in any app.

Yes.

keyboard_arrow_up J) Can I use Microsoft Office 365 with Refinitiv-Eikon?
Yes. Microsoft Office 365 is supported.
keyboard_arrow_up L) Can I install Refinitiv-Eikon on a Mac under OS/X?

Refinitiv-Eikon cannot be yet installed in a Mac under OS/X. Refinitiv-Eikon will keep you updated as soon as they have additional information.  

However, you can use the Web Access available at: https://customers.refinitiv.com/eikon/.

Also, you can run a Windows virtual machine on your Mac through Citrix. Please check the following procedure.

 
keyboard_arrow_up M) How can I get help? What should I do if I have a problem?

CLSBE has a team responsible to deal with problems and questions related with Refinitiv-Eikon. The team is composed by professors Mário Meira and Fernando Santos Jorge.

Each professor will be available during the academic year to help students in the following slots:

To participate in each of these slots' students are required to send an e-mail to the professor requesting to enroll in that slot. Depending on the demand for these slots professors might request for students to enroll for next week. These sessions might be performed physically at the university or through Zoom.
