Sustainability is Strategy: The New Imperative of Responsible Business

"Either we have a sustainable and responsible business or we will not have a business at all."

There is a widespread recognition that being a Responsible Business has become an unstoppable macrotrend, alongside a global acceptance of the importance of businesses increasingly incorporating social and environmental concerns into their core strategies.

While it is true that without economic sustainability it is difficult to achieve social and environmental sustainability, it is also increasingly clear that without social and environmental responsibility, companies will struggle to maintain their economic sustainability. There are no longer sustainability strategies. Sustainability is the strategy.

Responsible Business goes far beyond environmental issues — it is a broad concept that spans from ethics to local communities, from how employees are treated to diversity, from gender and racial discrimination to how suppliers treat their own workers, from media relations to how customers are cared for.

Proper and balanced stakeholder management will become the next major source of competitive advantage for businesses, and the business case for action is increasingly evident. This program will therefore equip participants with the tools to define the best strategies to meet these challenges.

Key Takeaways:

Understanding that the "business case" is undeniable and there is no other way for companies aiming for success to operate in the market.

Understanding the challenge of Sustainability as something holistic that affects all dimensions of the company: strategy, marketing, operations, and Human Resources.

Knowing the processes that can lead to the definition of these strategies.
