Of the six finalists for the FAE 2022 Case Study Award, from the various Business Schools in the country, three were students from CATÓLICA-LISBON. The awards ceremony took place this Tuesday, January 17, in Porto, and the big winner was the student Sofia Remtula, from CATÓLICA-LISBON.
The students Juliana Nicole Aguiar and Frederica Anna Damerow received honorable mentions for their Case Studies.
Once more the Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics is proud to have in its community students whose work has received awards and honorable mentions, showing that hard work pays off.
For Sofia Remtula, 1st place winner of the State of the Case 2022 Awards, this award "was an enormous honor, I wasn't expecting, but it was a really good feeling and happiness, because it reflected all my academic progress. And making this path with CATÓLICA-LISBON was incredible, because I really had a lot of support from my supervisor", admitted the student. When asked about the moment when her name was mentioned as being the big winner, Sofia Remtula also emphasized that this was "a moment for life" and that she felt "a great pinch of happiness and emotion" to have achieved this distinction at the national level.
It is students like the winner Sofia Remtula, as well as honorable mention winners Juliana Nicole Aguiar and Anna Damerow, who contribute to build the mission of this school to teach responsible leaders and agents of change for the future.
This is the winning Case Study:
Student Sofia Remtula presented the Case Study with the theme "Futah's international journey: a sunny future for a beach towel?", oriented by Professor Nuno Guedes.
These two studies received honorable mentions:
Juliana Nicole Aguiar addressed the theme "Portuguese Unicorns: Where else to go but the U.S. A tale of two unicorns", oriented by Professor Nuno Cardeal.
The student Frederica Anna Damerow focused on "Responsibility as an Opportunity: Enhancing Human Rights in Organizations as a Driver for Change - A Case Study on Sustainable Development", oriented by Professor Nuno Moreira da Cruz.
Having a winning student and two other honorable mentions within the community of CATÓLICA-LISBON is an honor and we could not let this achievement pass without thanking and praising the work of these students, especially the winner Sofia Remtula.
The FAE Case Study Award is an annual initiative of the Forum of Corporate Directors and Managers, with Caixa Geral de Depósitos, which aims to distinguish the best management cases of Portuguese or foreign companies operating in Portugal that serve as a model for growth and / or innovation. The cases must show a management challenge of a company or group of companies, focusing on the creation of value and sustainability for the organization.
