Teresa Abecasis is an experienced business executive having served for many years in senior leadership teams of large corporations and advised Boards of Directors and CEOs on strategic, growth and transformation topics.
In the last 6 years Teresa has been highly engaged in the topic of the Energy Transition supporting energy companies in driving an accelerated agenda of transformation that addresses simultaneously the urge for business reinvention and climate emergency societal challenges. She served as an Executive Board Member at Galp between 2021 and 2023 and as a Partner at BCG Energy Practice Area between 2017 and 2021.Her engagement involved different angles from vision and strategy to talent management, digital transformation, organization effectiveness, client centricity, capital allocation or investment value proposition.
Between 2012 and 2017 Teresa served as an executive in the agro-industry sector at a global scale at Sovena having been part of an ambitious and successful growth plan. She led the development of new agriculture ventures, the integration of new industrial capacity and partners, the launch of new products and the setup of new trading and commercial flows.
Teresa started her career as a strategic consultant at BCG where she worked from 1999 to 2007. In 2007 she joined the management team of the Portuguese office of Sanofi Pasteur MSD, a company dedicated to the commercialization of vaccines, and worked there until 2012.
Teresa graduated from Economic from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and holds an MBA from INSEAD. She also completed the ADECA program from San Telmo Business School, the15x15 program from EDEM and post-graduate studies in Health Economics at Universidade de Medicina de Lisboa.
