Before that, he was a partner of Rockbridge Advisors acting as a financial adviser. Director at Citigroup between 2000 and March 2011, with direct responsibility for Portuguese institutional investors on all structured products. Previously spent three years with ABN AMRO as a member of the Fixed Income Research Team, with a special focus on relative value across Euroland. He started his career in 1994 in the Portuguese Treasury.
PhD in Political Science from Instituto de Ciências Sociais of Universidade de Lisboa (research topic: banking regulation and politics). Master in Monetary and Financial Economics from Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, Master in International Relations and Politics from Instituto de Estudos Politicos of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Tocqueville Award for the best student), Certificate in Global Management from INSEAD and Degree in Economics from Universidade Católica Portuguesa. He teaches in the business and economics faculty at the same university, both in Graduate Programs and Executive Education Courses.
