René Bohnsack is Full Professor of Strategy and Innovation and has been recognized among the world’s most impactful scientists, according to the Stanford University ranking. His research explores the intersection of digital transformation and sustainable innovation and has been published in leading international journals in management and innovation studies.
His current work focuses on generative AI in innovation, competition in digital business ecosystems, and digital sustainability. He is Academic Director of the Lisbon MBA and Director of the Digital+Sustainable Innovation Lab (www.dsi-lab.org), which leads several major European R&D projects on business modelling, innovation, and education in sectors such as energy, eHealth, and deep tech.
René regularly advises companies on strategic topics related to AI adoption, digital transformation, and new business model design. Through DSIL, he collaborates with over 40 companies across Europe. He also co-leads Venturely.io, an award-winning platform for AI-powered business modelling.
In addition to his academic roles, René has co-founded several ventures, including the eHealth prevention platform fitbase.de (sold to PE in 2020), the virtual events platform scoocs.co, and the enterprise AI solution co-mind.ai. He has been a visiting fellow at MIT Sloan and is a TEDx speaker.
