Conceição Lucas is an experienced investment banker and financial manager across multiple geographies. She teaches the Sustainable Finance module at CATÓLICA-LISBON.
In September 2021, she incorporated Grandchildren Matter, Unipessoal, Lda, a company whose purpose is to promote Sustainable Finance projects, mostly in Portugal. In the last four years, Conceição has been analyzing and developing concepts and methodologies to align lending and investment with the 2015 Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); more recently the challenge is to incorporate scientific-based standards an criteria such as the European taxonomy. In 2020, she terminated a mandate as chairwoman of Banco Atlântico Europa, with a focus on return and purpose. From 2018 and 2021 she sat as a non-executive board member with EDP Renováveis. Previously, she held Corporate and Investment banking executive board roles in Banco Millennium BCP in Portugal and non-executive board membership in the affiliated banks of the Banco Millennium BCP in Africa and Switzerland, together with the supervisory advisory role in Poland and a directorship in Macau. During the period 2012-2017 she held several board-member positions with the Ocidental-Ageas insurance group in Portugal.
Conceição is an alumna of CATÓLICA-LISBON and holds an MSc degree in Operations Research from London School of Economics, a Post-Graduate degree in Economics from the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium) in addition to her Management degree from Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She also followed training in Sustainable Finance from the University of Cambridge and from NYU Stern School of Business.
