António Fidalgo is an Affiliated Professor at the Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, where he is also the Academic Director for the Masters in Applied Management. He previously taught at the University of Magdeburg (Germany), Fresenius University (Germany) and  Boston University (USA).  Antonio has an M.A. in Economics (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain) and a Ph.D. in Economics (Lausanne University, Switzerland). His main research area is cliometrics, a branch of economic history that employs a quantitative empirical approach informed by economic theory. His research focuses on long term economic development in topics such as living standards, agricultural production or inequality, especially before and up to the Industrial Revolution. He is also interested in methodological issues, in particular regarding quantitative instruments and their reproducible use.
