Rita Canas da Silva is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisbon School). She is a member of the Executive Committee and coordinating partner of the Labor department at Sérvulo e Associados. PhD in Private Law from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with a thesis dedicated to the Suspension of Employment Contracts. Guest speaker at conferences and seminars on Labor Law, with extensive work published in her area of expertise. Founding member of APODIT – Portuguese Association of Labor Law and founding member of AJJ – Association of Young Labor Lawyers. Between 2011 and 2015, she was assistant in the Office of the Secretary of State for Employment (Ministry of Solidarity, Employment and Social Security) and advisor in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of State to the Prime Minister. Member of the Bar Association since 2004.
