Articles on women leaving their jobs to take care of family members became quite common during the pandemic. Career breaks have been happening for a long time and returning to the job market has been a tough and sometimes almost impossible task for many women.

Corporate Returnship Programs brought some light to this topic by bringing back to the job market qualified professional (men and women). Companies such as J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs and Amazon have been running these programs for almost 15 years. In Portugal, CATÓLICA-LISBON has launched in 2020 a program to reignite women´s careers (Back-to-Market) and Mercedes-Benz.io recently developped the first Portuguese Returnship Program.
