As 2030 approaches, a key question is emerging: what comes next for sustainable development, and what role will business play in shaping it?
In the third session of our What Comes After 2030 webinar series, hosted by the Center for Responsible Business & Leadership at Católica-Lisbon, we explore the transition from the lessons of the 2030 Agenda to the challenges and opportunities of a post-2030 global sustainability framework.
The session brings together academia, international policy, and development practice perspectives, with contributions from:
- Stephan Klingebiel, Head of Research Programme “Inter- and Transnational Cooperation” at German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS)
- Olivier Cattaneo, Head of the Policy Analysis and Strategy Unit in the OECD Development Co-operation Directorate
- Sherif H. Kamel, Dean, School of Business, The American University in Cairo, and Independent scientist appointed to the Global Sustainable Development Report 2027 drafting
- Xueruo Ng, Doctoral Researcher, Monash Sustainable Development Institute
Event information:
- Date: 09 July 2026
- Time: 12:00 - 13:30 (Lisbon local time, GMT)
- Location: Online
- Language: In English
The session will also include an open Q&A with the audience, allowing for direct engagement with the speakers.
In a context of growing geopolitical fragmentation and evolving regulatory pressures, this webinar opens a timely discussion on what should be carried forward, what should change, and how to shape the next generation of sustainable development frameworks.
