Next Tuesday, researcher Urszula Lagowska brings to CATÓLICA-LISBON her research seminar entitled “Inspiring to Go the Extra Mile: Humble Leadership through the Lens of Social Exchange Theory”. Lagowska, a researcher at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation at Escola Brasileira de Administração Pública e de Empresas (EBAPE), will be in Lisbon on June 25th, giving her talk at 2PM in room 520-A of CLSBE.

Urszula Lagowska is interested in studying leadership and how its different styles or structures can have an effect on employees’ and leaders’ identities within an organization, as well as their different outcomes.

The talk she will give at CUBE’s Seminar Series focuses on humble leadership -- the mindset held by leaders who view their role as being a service to employees who they can help and support as they grow.

In her study, Urszula Lagowska explores how humble leadership can have an impact on employees’ citizenship behaviors, their commitment to the organization beyond their specifically assigned tasks. The results of her study, which involved 200 employees and supervisors at a Brazilian company, demonstrate that humble leadership has a positive effect on these organizational citizen behaviors.
