Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics held, last Wednesday, a meeting of master’s students and alumni in Luxembourg. The initiative aimed to strengthen the international contact network and support the integration of current students into the country’s labor market.

The highlight of this international study visit was a networking and experience-sharing event held at the residence of the Embassy of Portugal in Luxembourg, with the participation of around 50 people, including alumni and a group of 30 master’s students who traveled to the country to visit leading companies, including UBS, EY, the European Investment Bank, LPEA, KPMG, and the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT).

The meeting included remarks by the Ambassador of Portugal to Luxembourg, Pedro Sousa e Abreu, and the Dean of Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, Filipe Santos. During the session, the relevance of Portuguese graduates as representatives of the institution’s education and brand abroad was highlighted.

Speaking to BOM DIA, the school’s alumni department estimates that between 120 and 150 former students of the institution live and work in Luxembourg, “widely integrated into a plural community and standing out in sectors such as banking, finance, and large consulting firms.”

This visit, supported by AICEP, is part of the school’s internationalization plan, under which around 75% of current master’s students are foreign nationals, with a majority presence of students of German nationality. The objective of these trips is to identify strategic markets and create local support hubs for graduates.

In addition to Luxembourg, Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics has carried out similar initiatives in other European centers, having recently visited London and Madrid. The institution plans to conduct a visit to Germany in the near future.
