PROSPER is a research center that uses cutting-edge research methods to answer important questions on pressing economic issues that matter for prosperity. The Center goal is to improve policy design and evaluation and increase its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition to the knowledge production and dissemination, the Center also trains and provides work experience to the next generation so that they can design better policies and make better, data driven, decisions on economic issues.

The Center has 8 team members, including students from Catolica, and is growing, with new funding, new research projects, several published papers and reports on topics such as employment, poverty and inequality, and the supervision of master theses that have received outstanding grades.

Prof. Joana Silva, the academic director of our MSc in Economics, leads PROSPER and has brough to CATÓLICA-LISBON more than 15 years of experience as a Senior Economist in the World Bank.

Please see attached a Brief on the Center accomplishments. At CATÓLICA-LISBON we believe that rigorous economic thinking and effective policies is a key lever for progress and we are growing our community of great economic thinkers and analysts. If you want to be an excellent Economist in academia, international organizations, large companies or public institutions, CATÓLICA-LISBON is the right school for you.
