Professor Ilídio Barreto from Católica Lisbon, will be a guest speaker in the Idea Development Workshop organized by the Academy of Management Review to be held in May. The Academy of Management Review (AMR) is the top theoretical journal in Management. This workshop is designed to help scholars develop great ideas that will be the foundation for well-crafted manuscripts suitable for submission to AMR. The invitation corroborates the strong reputation that Católica Lisbon, in general, and Professor Ilídio Barreto, in particular, currently attracts in the international scientific community.
Professor Barreto has recently published in the AMR an innovative theory that explains how and why executives originate (or not) high-quality ideas for their firms’ responses to major, exogenous, and unprecedented shocks. His previous article on dynamic capabilities, published in the Journal of Management, has been one of the most cited scientific articles within the academic community since its publication in 2010. Since 2020, he serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ), one of most respected scientific publications in Management. He was the first Portuguese person to have such a role. In 2021 and 2023, he was included in the World’s Top Scientists list compiled by Stanford University and published by Elsevier.
