Are you a researcher at CATÓLICA-LISBON or across UCP? Then this workshop could be for you.

You are welcome to sign up for "Funding Opportunities in Horizon 2020: Social Sciences and Humanities integration in the Digital Innovation", organized by CUBE, CATÓLICA-LISBON Business and Economics Research Unit. It will take place on October 28th, in room 529 of CATÓLICA-LISBON, and you can register at this link

The workshop will focus on funding for research projects relating to Digital innovation and transformation, within the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and integration of Social Sciences and Humanities. However, the workshop will also be of interest to researchers in other areas who want to gain a better understanding of the European research funds.

  • In the morning, the National Contact Point (NCP) for ICT – Sofia Azevedo, and the NCP for Societal Challenges in Social Sciences – Marisa Borges – will provide insightful information concerning how Social Sciences and Humanities are integrated in the digital innovation and transformation; either in the calls or on the consortium arrangement.
  • In the afternoon, “practical sessions” will be led by both NCP’s, and there will be the opportunity for researchers, to discuss how to use these grants to benefit their scientific career, to brainstorm ideas within the group, and to draft a proposal.

Marisa Borges is also the NCP for the ERC (European Research Council) and SWAFS (Science with and for Society) works programmes, so this is also a good opportunity to clarify some specific issues related to these topics.

The sessions should be highly interactive, with time in all sessions for Q&A and time at the end of the day for participants to share the most important lessons learned.
