CATÓLICA-LISBON is proud to inform the creation of a Chair in Economic Diplomacy. The Chair follows the endowment the 2014 Winner of the Francisco Melo e Torres Award, HE Ambassador Luis Almeida Sampaio.

The Award is given by the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP) by the International Confederation of Portuguese Entrepreuners (CIEP) to the Portuguese diplomat who distinguished herself or himself in the area of Economic Diplomacy.

Having been Ambassador of Portugal in Berlin until 2015, Ambassador Almeida Sampaio actively promoted the economic ties between Portugal and Germany, contributing significantly to the increase of direct investment and exports in both directions with a remarkable impact on the economic growth of the country.
