The Center for Sustainable Finance at CATÓLICA-LISBON, in partnership with IAPMEI, the Portuguese Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, is launching a training course designed to help companies integrate sustainability principles into their financial strategy and management practices. Entitled “Practical Guide to Sustainability for Companies – Financial Perspective”, the training will take place on November 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Católica Porto Business School, and is aimed at professionals and companies, particularly SMEs, that are beginning their journey toward embedding sustainability into their financial and managerial operations.
According to the Center for Sustainable Finance at CATÓLICA-LISBON, “this course aims to equip companies with technical knowledge and practical tools that will allow them to access new green financing opportunities and strengthen their competitive position in a rapidly changing economic context, where ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria play a central role in risk assessment and value creation.”
Delivered in an intensive, in-person format, the program combines core concepts of sustainable finance with hands-on exercises and real-world case studies, offering an applied and action-oriented learning experience that delivers tangible and measurable outcomes.
Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to understand the European regulatory framework—including the European Green Deal, the EU Taxonomy, and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD/VSME)—and to assess their organization’s sustainability maturity level. They will also be guided in preparing a Voluntary Sustainability Report, aligned with new market and financing requirements, and in developing a personalized action plan, with individual follow-up after the program concludes.
Applications are open until November 6 and can be submitted here or directly through the Center for Sustainable Finance at CATÓLICA-LISBON.
