Digital Competencies & Innovation

Digital Competencies & Innovation

Program Description

The Online Academy: Digital Competencies & Innovation aims to equip professionals with the digital and innovation skills required to work and lead in a society in constant disruption.

20+ workshops are planned and will be launched gradually in this Academy, covering the full spectrum of critical concepts and practices in this topic.

The following workshops will be offered starting September 2021:

Social Innovation

Instructor: Luis Ribeiro Vaz, Advisor

The social policies at the disposal of Governments have not been able to solve growing social problems such as the ageing population, pandemics, international migration, environmental crises, or the growing threats to social cohesion. Social Innovation, defined as the attempts to transform social problems and the way in which goods, services or processes with public utility are produced, has grown significantly in the last decade, creating its own space that has complemented institutional action.

After this workshop, each Participant will be able to:

  1. Identify and analyze Social Innovation initiatives.
  2. Apply collaborative methodologies for solving social problems.
  3. Use the Social Business Model Palette.
  4. Create and implement a Social Entrepreneurship business plan.

Digital Transformation

Instructor: Bruno Soares, Leading Executive Advisor, IDC

We live in an increasingly connected world, which has evolved into a growing convergence of physical and digital, allowing for real transformations in the way Organizations innovate business models, access new markets, launch new products and services, transform customer and consumer experiences, optimize their operations and, perhaps the theme most impacted by the recent COVID-19 pandemic, rethink the future of work in the dimensions of space, culture or skills. This workshop allows participants to ensure that their Organizations are able to define and implement the right strategies, the important programs and the use cases that are necessary to survive and thrive in the “new normal”.

After this workshop, each Participant will be able to:

  1. Understand the different digital platforms and their impacts on Organizations' business.
  2. Contextualize the Digital Transformation on the 3rd digital platform and learn about Organizations’ main innovation accelerators.
  3. Understand a holistic approach to Organizations’ Digital Transformation, which considers the dimensions of Culture, Customers and Consumers, Work, Operations and Information.
  4. Recognize the importance of defining strategies, programs, use cases and Digital Transformation journeys for organizations to survive in the "new normal".

The Regulation of Startups

Instructor: Filipe Barata, Managing Partner, FB&Associados

Despite being a topic that is increasingly present this day and age and, as such, attracts a lot of attention, the regulation of entrepreneurship in Portugal, and in particular the regulation of Startups, is still not well known or discussed. This workshop aims to stimulate Participants’ minds and give them new knowledge regarding the ecosystem and applicable regime in Portugal, allowing them to think about this topic with a free and critical spirit and to finally work in this setting.

After this workshop, each Participant will:

  1. Know the legal framework of entrepreneurship in Portugal, especially regarding Startups.
  2. Know the formalities connected to the constitution and lifecycle of a Startup.
  3. Understand the support programs designed for Startups in Portugal.

Additional workshops will be launched gradually throughout the year.
