Economic Challenges: Using Data to Analyze Current World Issues

To build an understanding of the nature and drivers of current macroeconomic challenges and prepare students to be able to discuss them using persuasive and evidence backed arguments.

To illustrate the use of the range of concepts and techniques from other courses in the diagnosis of the current macroeconomic challenges and possible policy responses.

To analyze current macroeconomic challenges and potential solutions through the lens of the “policy design arc” working from problem diagnostic, exploring policy options that are technically correct, politically supportable, and implementable in varying contexts.
