António Horta Osório distinguished with the Career Award 2008

The Career Award 2008 was awarded to António Horta Osório, the current Executive Chairman of the British bank Abbey National. 

António Horta Osório, who completed his degree in Business Administration in the 80s at CATÓLICA-LISBON, was chosen by a panel chaired by Manuela Ferreira Leite, and comprising Artur Santos Silva, Francisco Pinto Balsemão, Isabel Mota and Manuel Ferreira De Oliveira.

António Horta Osório has an outstanding career in National and International Banking, with a long and diverse experience in start-ups, turn-arounds and acquistions and mergers  in different markets.

Besides the emphasis given to Horta Osório’s academic and profissional background by Professor António Borges, the Career Award 2008 Ceremony was also marked by the presentation given by Alexandre Soares dos Santos from the Jerónimo Martins Group, who as a keynote speaker shared his thoughts on the company's internationalization strategy.

During the day, public thanks were also given to the Alumni who last year celebrated 30, 25 and 20 years class reunions, and a fund was set up that awarded two student scholarships.
