The Experience

International

You will meet and study with people from different countries and cultures, enhancing cross-cultural awareness and fostering global citizenship.

Diverse

Participants not only from different nationalities but also from different backgrounds of studies will contribute to enrich the experience inside and outside the classroom.

Immersive

Generically speaking, program courses follow a learning-by-interacting and/or learning-by-doing approach, which consists of class participation, individual and/or group works, team exercises, presentations, simulations, etc.

Interactive and human-sized

In order to guarantee the best quality of interaction in the classroom, each program has a maximum of 36 places.

Academically demanding

You can expect a both stimulating and challenging teaching and learning environment from high-caliber Faculty from one of the 30 best Business Schools in Europe according to the Financial Times rankings.

Balanced

Programs’ structure aims at providing the right balance between studying and leisure: courses take place every morning (on the last day of the program, courses take place in the morning and in the afternoon). Mandatory activities (Lisbon city tour, Beach & Surf Experience and Company Visit) will occur in the afternoon. 6 afternoons out of the programs’ 10 working days are left entirely free for leisure time and/or optional activities.

Cultural

As part of the program, you will get cultural insights about Portugal as a country: take a Lisbon city tour, visit a Portuguese company, sunbathe on a famous Portuguese beach and taste our world famous food in a typical restaurant.

Calendar

Program Dates

Each CATÓLICA-LISBON Summer Academy consists in a 2-week program from July 1st to July 12th, 2019.

Courses take place every morning from 9:00am to 1:00pm (on the last day of the program, courses take place in the morning and in the afternoon). A few weeks before the program starts, admitted and enrolled students will receive by e-mail a detailed schedule of their program.

Each program consists of approximately 40 contact hours and corresponds to 6 ECTS credits (either 1 course of 6 ECTS or 2 courses of 3 ECTS each).

Certificate of Completion and Transcript of Records

At the end of their program, participants receive, in person, a Certificate of Completion.

Within approximately 1 month after completion of the program, participants will receive, by post, an official Transcript of Records along with Syllabus Authentication, issued by our University’s Registrar’s Office, mentioning the course(s) taken, the ECTS credit value of each course and the marks/grade points obtained.

Credit Conversion

Transfer of credits is at the discretion of the home institution. If you would like to count these credits towards your study plan, we strongly advise you to contact your university in advance.

Students from universities with a North-American credits system should consult their school’s credit-granting process. 6 ECTS credits are usually equivalent to 3 North-American credits.

Accommodation

Due to the very high popularity of Lisbon as a destination, it can become extremely difficult to find accommodation in the capital of Portugal, reason why accommodation is included – by default and unless otherwise requested – in CATÓLICA-LISBON Summer Academy programs for the entire duration of your program, for 2 full weeks, from June 29th to July 13th, 2019.
