Creation of a Chair in Economic Diplomacy

CATÓLICA-LISBON is proud to inform the creation of a Chair in Economic Diplomacy. The Chair follows the endowment the 2014 Winner of the Francisco Melo e Torres Award, HE Ambassador Luis Almeida Sampaio.

The Award is given by the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP) by the International Confederation of Portuguese Entrepreuners (CIEP) to the Portuguese diplomat who distinguished herself or himself in the area of Economic Diplomacy. 

Having been Ambassador of Portugal in Berlin until 2015, Ambassador Almeida Sampaio actively promoted the economic ties between Portugal and Germany, contributing significantly to the increase of direct investment and exports in both directions with a remarkable impact on the economic growth of the country.

CATÓLICA-LISBON, together with Catolica's Political Studies Institute (IEP), will take advantage of this initiative to enhance its academic footprint in the areas of international economics, international management and international relations, certain that this capital of knowledge will quickly spread to the real world of companies and institutions interested in internationalizing.
