CATÓLICA-LISBON’s initiative MOVE wins the University Volunteer Award

The MOVE Açores Porta a Porta Project was one of four awarded with the University Volunteer Award in 2017. The 2nd edition of this initiative awarded prizes for social contributions, heritage conservation and training of volunteers and beneficiaries who can exercise their willingness to help others independently.

10 finalists were selected in about 50 applications, involving more than 5,000 volunteers from across the country. Students who make a difference with projects developed in the Azores, Madeira and Viana do Castelo. These solidarity initiatives benefited from a monetary prize to the university students, as well as one year of strategic mentoring with the support of Banco Santanter Totta.

One of the prizes that stood out was the University Volunteer Award (PVU) Ideia, for its innovative character attributed to the MOVE initiative linked to Microcredit and Entrepreneurship from CATÓLICA-LISBON.

CATÓLICA-LISBON congratulates all the students who are involved in this initiative, reminding that this type of project is instilled in the DNA of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
