Career Award 2007

Sérgio Rebelo distinguished with the Career Award 2007

On the past 18th May, the Board of CATÓLICA-LISBON through its Alumni Office, with the support of the Alumni Association, brought together former students of Economics and Business Administration to celebrate CATÓLICA-LISBON Day.

In 2007, the Career Award was awarded to Sérgio Rebelo, one of the most reputed names in scientific research in the Macroeconomics and Finance fields today.

Before the announcement of the Career Award 2007 by Dra. Manuela Ferreira Leite, there was a conference about "Economics, Management and Change," where the speaker was Prof. Ernâni Lopes.

The most keenly anticipated moment of the afternoon came right afterwards with the delivery of the Career Award 2007 to Sérgio Rebelo’s parents by Prof. Manuel Braga da Cruz, Rector of CATÓLICA-LISBON.

Despite the impossibility of being at the ceremony as he was abroad, Sérgio Rebelo made a point of expressing his gratitude for the distinction. Through video conference, the Career Award 2007 winner thanked CATÓLICA-LISBON for the award, and underlined how his academic background at the university was decisive in his career as an economist, researcher and teacher.

The ceremony ended with a cocktail in the lobby of the Cardeal Medeiros auditorium, which was followed by a dinner sponsored by the CATÓLICA-LISBON Alumni Association at the Marriott Hotel in Lisbon.
